OBJECTIVES
OBJECTIVES OF RESULT BASED PROGRAMMES (RBPs)
AMS ESPC has two major objectives: General and specific objectives.
3.1 GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The universal aim of AMS ESPC in the course of RBPs, is to open up the minds set of Tanzanians trough promoting and sustaining independent thinking. This will lead to creativity, self awareness, self motivated, self committed and self disciplined. In turn as a Nation will experience both qualitative and quantitative achievements in social economical and political advancements.
3.2. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
In endeavor of trying to work as a team towards this undesirable situation, AMS ESPC has noted that Heads of schools, Teachers, Students and Parents/Community are the key educational service providers, if they are well informed about the genuine of educational industry and employment situation in Tanzania, they are in a better position in playing their part to bring positive changes.
The prepared RBPs are focal point to the respective participants as each will have a role to play in realizing revolutions in this country and world at large.
Generally RBPs are bridging devices for working together in promoting and sustaining academic performance and life skills education for self employment to learners. Themes to be portrayed are attached in annex 1.
4.0 THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES
AMS ESPC is expecting that, after conducting training to the respective educational stakeholders, the participants are expected to apply the gained knowledge basing on their respective areas in promoting and sustaining academic performance and life skills development for self employment to learners in rural based public schools.
4.1 THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES FROM TEACHERS
By the end of training it is expected that teachers will have ability to:
· Interpret and Apply correctly the Concept of Big Results Now (BRN) and Competence Based Approach in promoting and sustaining both academic achievements and life skills development for self employment
· Make accurate assessments and evaluation in the process of Teaching and Learning Process in promoting and sustaining both life skills for self employment and academic achievements
· Prepare and utilize accurately the pre and post teaching and learning documents.
· Be creative in enhancing academic performance and development of life skills to learner for self employment.
· Play their roles effectively and show interest to the professional.
· Facilitate other teachers in themes covered.
· Application of the concepts of CBA and BRN in daily life situation.
· Establish facilitators within the school, district and national at large
4.2 THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES FROM STUDENTS
It is expected that by the end of the training students will have ability to:
· Interpret and apply correctly the Concept of Big Results Now (BRN) and Competence Based Approach in promoting and sustaining both academic achievements and life skills development for self employment.
· Be creative in setting and using personal strategies so as to promote and sustain both academic achievements and life skills development for self employment.
· Study by following the principles/rules of learning for promoting and upholding meaningful learning.
· Recognize and handle suitably the challenges and threats that may hinder achievements both qualitatively and quantitatively.
· Form clubs which will deal with maters that will center on boosting independent mind and creativity
· Application of the concepts of CBA and BRN in daily life situation.
· Formation of AMS Clubs for implementing CBA and BRN approach.
4.3 THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES FROM HEADS OF SCHOOLS
It is expected that by the end of the training Heads of schools will have ability to:
· Supervise and monitor effectively the interpretation and application correctly the Concept of Big Results Now (BRN) and Competence Based Approach in promoting and sustaining both academic achievements and life skills development for self employment.
· Monitor and supervise accurately the school in terms of management and administration in promoting and sustaining both academic achievements and life skills development for self employment.
· Innovative in administering the school so as to attain both qualitative and quantitative achievements.
· Recognize and acknowledge competent teachers and use them in facilitating others within and without the school.
· Application of the concepts of CBA and BRN in daily life situation
· Formulate coordinators for supervising and monitoring the interpretation and use of CBA and BRN so as promote and sustain academic performance and life skills development for self employment.
4.4 THE EXPECTED OUT COMES FROM PARENTS/COMMUNITY
Since the establishment of ward public schools, the community had and still have the negative perceptions towards these schools. This is due to different challenges facing them, such as lack of enough of teaching and learning resources (teachers, buildings, books, social services etc).
Therefore, it is anticipated that parents/community will have ability to:
· Alert other parents/Community in changing their mind set towards supporting these schools for enhancing effective Teaching and Learning processes so as to raise the performance both quantitatively and qualitatively.
· Be creative in improving the quality of education.
· Form Parents Teachers Associations (PTA) at Ward and District level for supporting the smooth running of schools
· Application of the concepts of CBA and BRN in daily life situation.
CONCLUTION
It is our hope that the dream of AMS ESPC through its program me will get different support from diverse educational stake holders so as to have a well educated society which are able to face social and economical challenges within and without the country. Former President of South Africa the late Nelson Mandela said ‘‘Education is a powerful weapon that can change the World’’. Please find the enclosed tentative budget and themes to be covered.
